He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.
I can only guess but in that environment and the truck having it's windshield open, it's shower time at the earliest convenience.
Now, we've seen this pic before and argued about whether the rifle pictured has a recoil pad for grenade on it...but I forget, is this north Africa? Early pic, with early door marking on the truck? Anyone know?
Regards, Jim
Only a guess here. The rifle leaning on the truck running board appears to have dust or dirt on its butt - no pad. Again guessing, North Africa kitting up for a jump - either preparatory to or for the Sicily invasion jump.
We talked about the rifle to death...don't care about that. I was just hoping someone could pin this down from the star and circle on the truck door. I think later they went to just the star...is that right? Therefore there has to be a date...that'll help to narrow down what the jump would be.
Regards, Jim
