    m1917 stock markings

I hope some can help me out .I have a 1917 enfield stock that is marked on the tip with a small w .From the research i have done that means it's a winchester stock. I had some say that it's an inspection mark . Thats for the help

it is indeed the winchester marking , the model 1917 rifles left the factory with this and a few small eagle head/number inspection marks around the trigger guard and a "P" on the pistol grip , and that's it , any cartouche on the stock is a re-arsenal marking
