    Unit markings locations

Hello all, new member, but longtime lurker. I have 3 SMLEs: a 1918 Lithgowicon sporter, a 1942 Longbranch sporter and my pride and joy, a 1915 Enfield arsenal in original military trim. I'm very interested to find out where these things have been and what they have seen in their service. Can anyone tell me where to look on each of these models for any unit markings or other useful information? None of them came with a butt disc unfortunately.

You'll have to strip your rifles and tell US where the markings that are there are and what they say. Photos are the best. But in the real world, there's VERY few unit markings ever marked on the rifle itself.

    You could consult a psychic.

You could swab the nooks and crannies with Q-tips and ask your friendly university biology lab to ID the pollens they find.

And that's about all you can do!
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”
