Well, ZLT was a Canadianicon company, as marked, and we used those for a while. They seem to have drifted out of service by about Korea and I never did see them in service. That was from the 70's onward. We had a pattern that stayed with us from Korea and changed from the belt hooks to Velcro to 82 pattern...this one seems to have held a very short life. As you see, it held a mag and a cleaning rod as well...
    Regards, Jim

That is the original "Chinese Pattern" holster and as noted it had a short life in Cdn service.

Made by Zephyr Loom and Textile of Guelph Ontario Canadaicon.
They made a large share of the webbing in Canada during the war.

I should think the bottom line is, if you have a collection of Canadianicon pattern holsters, you'd have to have this one too...

It's also known as the "Type 1" Hi Power holster. The "Type 2" had a double flap opening, not just the top flap as seen on this example.

Those were a real package for holding a pistol secure. They'd be almost impossible to get at the handgun in a fast situation though. Keep it clean though...
