SMLE barrel clearance at nose cap

Recently I was looking over a BSA manufactured SMLE that had been re-barrelled and noticed that the barrel was in contact with the nose cap (12 o'clock position).

I presume there should be even clearance all round the barrel where it exits the nose cap. If this is a problem are there any areas to check to restore the correct clearance?
