Does your Springfield M1903 have one of the following serial numbers?

    51408; 401234;41994;189490;83361;310380;462717;72103;5007 4;581486;307885;39634

If so it's your lucky day and American Riflemen magazine would like to hear from you. In this months issue there's an article about the battle of Blair mountain in West Virginia. Theses 03's are verified in a report to have at least "been there".

On which side? I haven't read the article, but Blair Mountain was one of three or four occasions the American Army fired on its own citizens. People around here still remember Blair Mountain.

March '14 addition page 64 the article starts.

An aside, all my "people" live in the Charlestown area and in Huntington. For some reason Pop-pop moved his family to Philadelphia in the 60's looking for work I suppose....

    On the miners side...
