    Re p14

Thanks to all of you for enjoying these guns as much as I do. I bought a P14 that seems to be as issued. It does have a CAI import stamp. It has a very good bore and all the numbers match. It doesn't seem to have any rebuild stamps that I'm familiar with. Like Fazerkly. The serial numbers are 276379. I have watched a long time to get a rifle as issued just to enjoy an American made model of a great caliber. Any idea when it was made and where it went?

We need to know the manufacturer of the rifle to be able to give a definite answer on when yours was made.

However, it should not be a Winchester as their serial numbers do not go that high. If a Remington it was accepted by Britishicon inspectors at the factory in week ending 31 March 1917, if an ERA then w/e 24 February 1917.

It would have been shipped to the UK and almost certainly placed in reserve storage. Only small numbers of P.'14s were actually used, even for training in WWI.

So it is a Remington, not an Eddystone.

Well today I loaded some Sierra 174gr Match King's with a load I've used in other 303's to good effect. They chronographed at 2500fps and grouped 5 shots into an overall spread of just under 2 inches at 100 yards. Almost missed the target; they printed about 12 inches high. What was the 100 meter zero for ball ammo? I can change out the front sight easy enough, just need to know what I'm looking for. Thanks for any help
