Having trouble separating striker from firing pin (1903A3).

I finally added an 03A3 to collection, and the first corse of action is to take it apart!

I understand that the striker comes off the firing pin (sideways) by retracting the spring and then the striker should come off? Well, it appears that the "sleeve" is attached to the striker? Once I retract the spring the striker and sleeve will spin freely but the striker will slide off in any direction. Also, I tried to pull down on sleeve and spring at the same time but I cant make that happen. Any suggestions?

Mine is not separating like that. I can get the spring to compress but the sleeve stays "attached" to the striker. Also, when spring is compressed the striker sleeve combo will spin freely. Thanks for the thought.

Yea, they'll spin around 360 degrees. That's not a problem. It sounds like your sleeve and striker are corroded together a bit. Just hit them with oil and work them apart.

Thanks Fred G. I actually have them soaking as we speak. Most of the time, as is it is in this case, I have never had one of these apart. My general rule is I dont force anything for fear of breaking something. Thanks for the help!
