Hi Peter what of the old Serial No. OS 2939 A that has been struck out, seller says it was up graded to an L1A1 so does this refer to it being re-calibrated to the 7.62 ballistics.
    Thanks Peter.

That isn't the serial number. It is the old V5-OS VAOS/Ordnance stock number for a No32 Mk3 scope. When it changed to a Tel Strt Stg, the Ordnance classification changed so the old stock number was barred out

Earlier in the week, I told a member of this forum that I thought this would sell in the $2500 to $3000 range. It is at $2,550 with a little under 8 hours remaining.

Rifle No N36863 was part of batch 29 which consisted of 20 weapons and has a recorded conversion date of 4th October 1971, out to store at Donnington.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

It begs the question, where is N36863? Regardless of that price, they are still out there cheap. I rebuilt a Mk1 to like new not 3 weeks ago form a bit of a heap. Optics dire and missing the front shade and OG lens plus segment. All it really needed was a suitable 42 for the lenses but a No53 was provided and used successfully. Total cost was, I believe £440 including my paltry repair cost.

But add another GBP £300 for the brackets, and maybe £400 for the tin and you are back up at £1600 (or US$ 2500)
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...
