    Sog no2 mk iv*

Looking for a verdict on whether the SOG .22 Enfields are legit or maybe Khyber Pass repops.

Mine came in last night and I took a bunch of pictures this morning. Will probably not get around to cleaning it this week, as there is too much going on this weekend. It looks like a typical Indian .22 rebuild to me but I am not exactly a expert at Enfields. We shall see what the hive comes up with. The bore is pristine and overall I am satisfied with it. Can't wait to get it to the range, maybe week after next when I am on vacation. I got a email from SOG after I ordered saying they were out of the versions with No 4 style sights but when it arrived I was happily surprised to see a rear flip sight on it. Serials match on the receiver, bolt handle, nose cap and is stamped on the bottom of the forearm.

Not Khyber Pass at all, these have been talked about before on this forum and others. I think they are an Indian modification with a No.4 type sight, they cut a slot in the base to allow he bolt head to be removed.

I'm not sure that those Khyber tribesmen engaged a lot of small bore/.22" rifle practice. Mind you, now that I think about it, I'm not sure that they did/do a lot of full bore rifle practice either judging from our standard post-op debriefing of those newly returned from 'those places'

RFI No.2Mk.IV/IV* conversions are legit and interesting. I sold one last year that had a two groove barrel. The first I'd ever seen.

Looks like a National Rifle Factory receiver. These Indian sight conversions have been little documented. Obviously they needed something to approximate the sighting on their SLRs.
