    Question regarding this MLE please

    Hello gents,

I recently acquired this lovely rifle. Can someone please confirm if it has a replacement barrel being dated 09.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy the photos.

Certainly oooks as though someone has swaged the living daylights out of the body in order to get the previous overturning barrel to underturn, tighten and sunsequently index

Photo 11, the barrel socket looks to be marred around the outside where someone has tried to raise the amount of material and stop the barrel over tightening.

Peter's comment is interesting because usually the swaging is done to the barrel, not the body.

So does the MLE torque up on the outer face of the action, unlike the SMLE? Doesn't the barrel make contact with the action on the inner face?
