He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.

Why not just call in some Long Tom rounds and flatten the bush and the sniper in one..............
A book I have in my collection which I read that relates a similar story wish I could remember the book and give you the title.
The Brits were at a loss in this instance with this particular sniper
Monkey (GermanSniper) swung up into his tree under observation but could not be touched (Apparently) so they called in 1 x 25 PDR gave the Co-ords and with only 1 round HE got Monkey
They inspected the area later on having pushed the enemy back and were gratified to find monkey's helmet with some of his skull and brain matter inside of it.
Who says you need a rifle to snipe people

[Heads up for Gods sake, those are bullets - not turds. General Lepic 8 Feb 1807 at Eylau from losses to random fire whilst they waited in reserve]
The Germans were known to use thier '88s to snipe a single soldier.
