    early M14 parts

You don't find a lot of early M14 parts around - most were used on early M1Aicon builds or just dumped. The SA marked windage knob might have been used on the late M1 rifles ?
The M14 trigger guard with the stud was gone by about 1962 - never saw one on a TRW.
The early operating rod flat spring guide was not around much either. I read that only 3000 M14 stocks were produced for the M1 type buttplate - these are very expensive now,

Was it 3000 or 30,000 early stocks? Either way, they don't litter the countryside.

jmoore, not quit sure of the number produced either but one that I would like to have is the fiberglass M14icon stock also made for the M1 type buttplate. I saw one once on a four digit M14 that was saw cut in three places but the stock was not damaged, it was on an auction.

I do have the early fiberglass General Tire & Rubber stock without the checkering, first one that I ever saw was on a TRW in the service
