Looking for information on British 22 rim fire

Some years ago, I was given about 500 round of the 22 rim fire packed in 100 rd boxes and was told it was excellent for target shooting. I have never used any but will soon, anyone have any information about these cartridges ?Attachment 53223

Well it's modern stuff compared with that which we were given when I learnt to shoot - that went back to the 1947 vintage, and had occasional misfires. The good stuff was kept for matches and the last training sessions before matches. It works OK - most of the time. But 1979 is, well, not 2014. And I am not aware that ammo improves with age. Furthermore, old rimfire bullets have often turned "crusty" as the lubricant has reacted with the lead.

If the bullets show a whitish surface, forget it, unless you think that your bore will profit from being polished by crystals of lead salts.

    British 22 rim Fire cartridges

Thank you Patrick, these cartridges are all in excellent condition, I will same most for collectors who display their UKicon 22 rim fire rifles.

I have a small accumulation (photo) and not a collector of 22 rim fire.Attachment 53278
