Need Help IDing Numbers on WWII M1 Liner and Bug Net

Picked these up last weekend. Liner and bug net have matching "H-28" on them. Anyone know the significance of this? Also I am not familiar with this particular "bug net" i realized it was worn over the helmet to protect the face and neck but that is all I know. Any ideas when, where and for what anticipated purpose this was used? Thanks!

We had bug nets issued standard equipment. Virtually the same item except the cloth was nylon. Turned mine in about 7 years ago...used it regularly.

H-28 looks alot like a roster number. Maybe from Airborne school. Just a guess. What kind of chinstrap does the helmet have?
