NOS Vietnam era USAF Carbine slings on EBAY

I have actually been a fan of the USAF issue nylon "seatbelt" slings for the Carbine. They are longer (52 inches, IIRC) and lend themselves to a muzzle down, under the arm, sling over shoulder carry. I have seen cheaper ones that came in on the Blue Sky Korean import carbines, but the USAF ones used in Vietnam are better quality. Occasionally I see them used, but found a source for NOS ones on EBAY for about $15.00. I ordered one for my potbelly stock.

Wow! The last 7 in stock disappeared in the last hour! I had no idea others wanted them so bad.

My carbine in 1968 did not have a nylon sling, OD web D clip.

Thanks Jim. I think they came out later. I have seen a package dated 1970 or 1971.

If these don't use an oiler to retain the sling at the butt stock end, does anyone have a pic of how these look with this 2nd type if retention??

They use the oiler for retention to the stock. These slings just don't have the snap at the other end for attachment to the barrel band. They use a buckle instead.

They are a little loose around the oiler, but not loose enough (at least on my stocks) to fall out. The buckles are smaller than the web buckles, and the D tip is a little too tight. I squished them in a vice, and they are fine.
