Was the P.14 rifle used in Lebanon?

Following this thread -> P14 rifle: pine tree in circle markings there was a P.14 pictured which appears to have a marking which was identified as the Lebanon "flag".

Is there someone who knows if P.14 rifles were ever used or given to Lebanon? Or were there ever French Foreign Legion soldiers in Lebanon (because as far as I know they once carried P.14 rifles)?

Any hint to a useage of the P.14 rifle in this area would be highly welcome!

Ive seen comments that a lot of P14s were handed to the likes of the "free french" and eastern med countries etc, during ww2, so yes its quite conceivable. I'd have to go back and look at the history, but I think after ww1 Lebanon and Syria were "handed" to the french as part of the spoils split up from defeating the Ottoman Empire. Britain kept Palestine and Arabia, where it turns out all the oil is. The interesting thing from my perspective was the stupid thing 3 Turks in Govn/power did in pushing the Ottoman empire into WW1. If the Ottoman empire had kept out of WW1 it probably would have kept "ownership" of Saudi and today be amongst the richest country's on earth, oopsie.

The British defeated the Vichy early in WW2 and Lebanon became "independent" sort of.

So looking through my rifles I noticed that one of mine also has this marking, but not with the .22 barrel. It also doesn't have any type of serial added to any parts, but it obviously belonged to the same unit/country.

It's a RE (Remington) rifle still with volley sights, will check it for additional markings (and better pictures of it) when I have time.

These are the Arab markings on the unit marking disc of my P14 with the same "Lebanon" (tree in circle) as Promo's rifle.

If it is an acceptance mark of Lebanon, does somebody know in what period it was used and if it is used on other types of firearms of the Lebanese armed forces?
