    Pattern 34 webbing ????

I have assumed that this item is Pattern 34 webbing only by its general apperance and its date, but I have no idea what it is for. None of the straps / buckles do up on themselves but appear to attach to something else. It is as new and unissued and is something of a mystery to me has anyone any ideas what it might have been used for? It does not appear to have been cut down or altered in any way what you see is what I think it was meant to be.

Here is the place to start. Karkee Web If you do not find it there e-mail the site administrator. They helped me identify an odd pattern 34 item.

Thompson case? Butt removed? Or Sten all thrown in together?

It's my understanding that this is a pre-WWII trials pack saddlery Bren gun valise. A quantity of unissued ones seems to have turned up circa 10-15 years ago and I bought one fairly cheaply at the time.

OK, now I have it. That's the problem with posting a pic like that with no scale. I had no idea how long it was...
