Unidentified Arisaka- Help?

I'm not an aficionado on Arisakas, but I can usually research and find out what I'm looking at. This one has me stumped, but I'm still thinking about buying it.

I've posted it on a FB group and some other places and the best lead I have is a Chinese Type 19 carbine. Not much info I can find about those, either.

Any help appreciated!

Catch22, It looks like a training rifle to me. Check to see if the bolt has no locking lugs and if the trigger guard and lower tang are cast as one. Salt Flat

I saw that worksheet, just never saw anything to answer the questions when you checked it off. THere's a couple of articles that I've read on it that point to this being a North China gun. The question I'm trying to answer is if it's a Type 19, Type 30, or if there were multiple variations ofthe Type 19 and this is one of those variations. As I understand it, there's not a lot of documentation about these things.

Gotcha. I'm finally starting to find a very little bit of info as I keep researching.

It seems these are just little known variants that were never really documented. As I'm getting it, the Japanese used the Chinese to manufacture various arms in like three different plants. Where I get confused is the designator of "Type 19" and whether a T19 is any of those variants, or a specific one.

I'm kind of excited to get this thing in my hands. I'll be getting with him later in the day to figure out how to get it in my hands. Sale price looks to be $140, so I figure it's worth a gamble. Not many guns I've seen that aren't worth that much.

Yeap, the difference`s in the bolts are like the Type 19 has an extractor like on a Mauser & the extractor on the Type 30 is on the front end of the bolt like on an Type 30 Arisaka. Arisaka went with the Mauser style extractor on the Type 35 or 38 I am not sure without looking it up !....................

OK, I think I'm on it now. So it's a "North China Type 30" as opposed to a Type 19 variant.

Not that it matters at this point, as I'm buying it, but any off the hip estimate on what they value at? I've had guys say $200 and I've heard $2500. This is what I hate about uncommon weapons. LOL Biggest reason I'm trying to determine that is to convince the wife why I bought another gun. LOL
