Lance Sergeant, Some regiments, like the Brigade of Guards, have Lance Sergeants

London District. An organisation that runs the Army in and around London. It is always commanded by a Guardsman and is run by and mostly staffed by the Brigade of Guards.

Recce (Platoon) was part of Support Company of an infantry battalion. I assume that in the days of that box, the Sniper Section was part of Recce Platoon.

That was easier than I thought. I was expecting to have to wait for Peter.

Nope Beery, dead right! Probably from one of the resident Battalions. Maybe, knowing that, you could write to the Brigade of Guards Museum and ask them to pass on a letter to ex L/Sgt Coull. I don't know what L/Sgt Coull relates to but I think that it is a L/Cpl in the other Army

Isn't it a full screw Cpl that is the same as L/Sgt?

I was talking to one last year in Euston station whilst waiting for a train, He was carrying his "black bag" and on the way home after a 60 odd days in the glass house (Military Corrective Training Centre).

Said he was lucky to get only the glass house and busted down to Guardsman, as his mate was kicked out.....

Well, there you are. The Net doth provide yet again. Sounds like the "Tumbledown Veterans Association" might be your most direct route, or the Scots Guards Association.

Could be your rifle was there, and if the gentleman is still with us, he'll probably remember his rifle number.

Much changes, much remains the same.
