    1918 RSAF Enfield No 1.

Picked up this sported 1918 Enfield No 1 today for next to nothing. All matching, have a stock set waiting for it tomorrow. Curious about the unit disc.....can anyone ID?

Just a guess, but "2 W.R." may be 2nd Battalion The Welsh Regiment.

The "P.W." made me think of "Powys" but there's probably no connection at all, and there was no connection to the Prince of Wales in 1919.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

WELL was the abbreviation for the Welch Regt. My dads uncle Alf Jones was in 2 Welsh from Mons til the end of the war.

I have one here I can send you but it's missing the two forward bits that lie on each side of the sight...But it could be sorted out, perhaps...

One of our forum members really came through with a part I needed....short top handguard, I lightly sanded it then stained it to match. Turned out pretty good. Many thanks!

I wondered about 2nd Worcesters. My paternal grandfather's battalion; kia 1/11/16 on The Somme.
