US M3 "Blade Marked" Case Trench Knife

I've been receiving eBay notices for "completed listings" of M3 trench knives. The notice for this one caught my eye because of the selling price.

I expected to see a leather scabbard, but instead an M8 with no leather thong. I need to do some research I guess, but didn't like the peening and was also confused with the blue finish rather than parkerized. Did they really come that way? Thanks! - Bob

It's been stripped and polished and hot blued. Possible even a reproduction blade. Not factory. Then reassembled. The edge was very carefully touched with a stone to show bare metal. I've done a few to that end...stay clear of it if you're looking for an original.

I just did some quick research on trench knives and my reference shows there were (4) makers that produced some with blued blades. Nearly all of these were of the "blade marked" or "blade dated" variety. Only (1) maker is listed as producing a "guard marked" M3 with the blued blade. Does anyone on the forum have a picture they could post showing an example with the original blued finish blade? Thanks! - Bob
