    03 safe to shoot?

    i know this has been beat to death but i don't want to be blown to death. i have a chance to buy a o3 springfield with sel. no. 829xxx is it safe to shoot?

    Is there a proof mark on the 03's that show that they were re- heat treated?

    No, as was mentioned in another thread, the "re-heat treat" receivers were only done to a relatively few receivers as a test. (100-500). To my knowledge, there was no distinguishing mark.
