I sure do appreciate the response! Thanks! What I was after however was any information in Springfield Research Service on that particular Krag.
OK, the closest I have is before it, 67397 is a 96 Carbine and issued to 6th cavalry. Next after it was 67426, it's also a 96 Carbine issued to the 6th cavalry. Both guns were turned in. No direct hit for me on your gun.

Hmm...hey thanks! This carbine might have an interesting history after all. I sure appreciate the information! Thanks!
Fred
Here's a bit of history. I just had heard something about the unit in China. 6th Cavalry Regiment - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thanks Jim! Actually, I don't own the carbine. It's up on auction on Gunbroker. Here's the link...

Thanks for the link Fred, I'm saving it to watch the end. That's a nice(ish) one. Looks like it's been there, done that. The idea that this one went to China isn't too far fetched for me, mine is a '99 made in '01 and it doesn't show half of the use this one does. Nice carbine...
Regards, Jim
Jim, I'm not looking to bid on it so if you or anyone else likes it, Go for it!
What about rifle No. 40979
Anything on that? It's also up for auction.

No hit there and the one before and after are both '96 rifles. Both issued to different units. 40982 was issued to Engineers...
I can't bid on any of them as I'm Canadian. It would take more money than sense to get it here after bidding. IF the guy would even send it...
