Questions regarding newly acquired Rem Rand M1911A1

I have a few questions regarding my newly acquired '43 Remington Rand. I hope some of the experts here will be willing to oblige.
First some pictures:








It was advertised as "Original and all complete" however from my limited research I believe that the barrel is incorrect and I suspect the safety may also be incorrect.
Any feedback is appreciated.
I purchased this pistol for what I consider a fair price even if these items are not correct, I am simply trying to determine the facts, I am not trying to fault the seller.

The Colt Barrel is definitely not original to the pistol (i.e. - it did not leave the factory with that barrel in it); a few of the very early Type I Remington-Rands had Colt barrels (SNs from under 930k). An original barrel for that SN would be a High Standard, marked H S on the right lug. Don't know about safety.

Nice pistol. From what I see everything (but the barrel) looks correct.

The thumb safety does look correct (Type 3). It is common for the safety, slide stop and mag release to be a darker black color like that. The overall finish appears original and not re-parked.

Thanks for the information joz.
I actually have that book, that is how I knew about the barrel, but I was confused about the safety info.
I would be happy to discuss the purchase price by pm, but would prefer not to post it on the forum.

The barrel is not correct, however that being a Colt barrel that would have been found in a Colt 1911a1 and that is not a bad thing. There were a lot more, in fact many more RRs made than Colt's during WW2. That Colt barrel is much rarer than a HS or Flannery barrel.
