Peter, what is standard MoD procedure for disposing of surplus or outdated ammo? I remember when there was a whole bunch of 1994 Radway Green 7.62 NATO for sale in the States, but I haven't seen any in several years.
To be honest Enbloc I really don't know what happens with sales of that sort of stuff.
Britishmilitary surplus ammunition is now no longer sold off to the civilian world, or at least not on the UK Market. The majority of it is destroyed in large incinerators, tens of thousands of rounds were incinerated in Afghanistan in purpose built incinerators rather than ship/fly it back.
Some surplus may trickle on to the civil markets (through the back door) but i doubt that it will be in any quantity.
There is plenty of Nato Spec 7.62 X 51 ammunition available to buy at the NRA. It is made by GGG and loaded with a 144 grain FMJ, approx £62 per 100. It shoots quite well out to 800yd and will hold the NRA V Bull at that distance.
Steve,
Thanks..........thought it had dried up there for a minute, AmmoZone have just got some in I'm told too, so it must be restocking itself from somewhere
