WWI Sniper1903 Springfield ?

I ran across this barreled action on Gunbroker--

Could it be a legit sniper? The holes look close to the Warner Swasey rail spacing. Is the serial range correct? Salt flat

I took another look at the mounting holes and it you can definately see a pattern where the feet of the Warner Swasey scope were! Salt Flat

Hmmm. Peter Senich shows a photo of a Model 1913 sight stamped with rifle SN 625560 on page 27 of "The Complete Book of US Sniping". Barrel date would be consistent with usage of that sight. Wonder if barrel is star gauged?

dont think the 1913s were star gauged.. the CMP sold a few in the same serial range a while back...i would want to see that a base lines up right
