He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.
Missed me!!!! Ppppppppttttt.....
Hopefully he survived the war with nothing worse than a small scar, a great story, and a picture to prove it!
This is an unforgettable photo, at least for me. Thank God for all those those who served and put their lives on the line and like him stayed there beside his buddies..
I'm going out on a limb here but I bet his bell rang for a week over that!![]()

Bob, did he make it through to the end?
I found this:

A friend's father was flying Hueys in Vietnam. He had a round come in one side of his helmet, pierce the skin at his temple, then ride under the skin all the way around his head and exit skin and helmet at the other temple. Until they got to a medevac hospital, even he was convinced the round had gone straight threw his head and that he was as good as dead. It was a life-changing experience.

Yeah, I've seen that before also. My old sheriff's department partner was shot in the head with a .25 auto. hit him dead on in the forehead at the hair line and followed the scalp and exited at the nape of the neck. He was sure he was shot through and through also. That experience confirmed he was as hard headed as we had always thought he was![]()
