Can't make unfortunately, topping up my Brownie point tally by taking the family to Newcastle for a couple of days.
Nobs Dave & I will be there, as usual, hoping for a successful day.......
I'm umming and erring about going up. Its quite a costly day trip, and the last time I went there didn't seem to be much actual firearms stuff amidst all the militaria & ephemera.
......which can occasionally work to our advantage! You're right of course; at one stage we were the only exhibitors with functional firearms, but it's risen to three or four lately - plus a few others who are RFD's but who only bring deacts to the show.
I'm looking forward to seeing you there, Geoff - clutching my FAC in eager anticipation!

Good to see you Neil, the look on your face said it all......I managed to pick up a bit of bargain at the last minute nothing Enfield related but may go on an Enfield at a later date.
Forgot to mention the usual suspects Roger, Dave and Paul good to see you.

Still got that ga ga look on my face now, Geoff!
Thanks again for all your help - will be posting pics of the Trials (T) on the forum to celebrate its return to GB from the States very soon.
Good to finally put a face to Bigduke6, Buccaneer and to catch up with Roger and Dave again
All in all a good day - felt like a 6 year old on Christmas day...............
I did have wry smile or chuckle to myself at your comment in thread 2 Simon. I don't know about the rest of the world but surely, a rainy day in Birminghamshire with a grumpy wife in tow would definately bring more on more brownie points than a sunny day in Geordieland.............
Peter,
Not with my good lady, trust me
Fortunately for me my Brownie point account is now full to bursting which means I can shortly bog off on a Jolly Boys Outing to Flanders for a week in the full knowledge that I won't be on "deaf and dumb dinners" for a fortnight on my return. There's a method in the madness.
Cheers,
Simon.
P.S. Not to mention I particularly enjoy the craic with the Geordies in a proper working man's boozer whilst conveniently avoiding hanging around like a spare part outside the endless shops.
