Webley Mark VI and Holster, experts?

I believe this is Australianicon based on some of the markings but I am far from an expert. Unfortunately it is cut for 45 ACP but it will be fun with mouse fart loads. The holster has me a bit confused as well as it does not look like any of the others I have seen. I believe it is definitely military as you can see the arrow stamped inside along with some numbers, which I really cannot make out. Any input is appreciated.

You need to work on getting those marking a bit more visible for us. Then someone will tell you exactly where and when that holster came to be.

It goes with pattern '39 leather equipment as worn by the home guard. Go to karkeeweb.com.

i think the D with the broad arrow inside may make your revolver Australianicon issued. Tom

It's definitely Australianicon issue - the D with a broad arrow in it is an Australian Defence Department marking.

Is anything stamped on the backstrap? It's common to find unit, regiment, or rack numbers there, along with the owner's name sometimes - prior to WWII, officers had to purchase their own guns.

As for the holster - it looks like a proper military one and the markings seem correct, but I don't know as much about holsters as I do about the things which go in them, I'm afraid.

I don't remember seeing an arrow-in-a-D mark in Australiaicon on old kit. But I saw D-arrow-D zillions of times, everywhere. When did the arrow in a D change to DarrowD

The arrow in the D is pre WWI into the between wars era.
