Eddystone, Remington Arms.
These are what remain today.

I was told that E or RE were Eddystone, and ERA was Eliphalet Remington Arms, Eliphalet being the company founder.
I've never heard anything but Eddystone Remington Arms for the meaning of ERA on the Pattern 14.

I just talked to a local dealer in milsurp and he said:
W- Winchester
E or ERA - Eddystone
RE - Remington
I have had one with an E, one with a W, and now have one with RE, and one with ERA.
I always thought RE was Remington Eddystone.
Thank for the replies.
