How rare are 03's drilled for Warner & Swasey sights?

Are the 03's that were tapped for Warner & Swasey sights considered desirable or just "meh" as I think many were never issued with the sights? I've got the set up to mount a W & S sight and looking for an appropriate 03 to display it. If I can't find an original tapped receiver I was thinking about taking a doggy 03 and having it tapped myself.

I've seen a few receivers over the years with the holes on the side for a WS mount. They're out there.

The CMPicon sold quite a few over the last years. However, most were rebarreled or had plugged holes. There is one frequently turning up on gunbroker.com with a new barrel and a CMP C-stock. So far he didn't lower his price of $ 1500 what I think is a bit too high.

I believe it's worth the time to wait, if you really want a rifle consisting of at least original parts. If you anyway only want a shooter, take whatever is available and build it.

    Thank you.

I am one of those impatient people but I will try. I was thinking of just picking up a resin 03 to use it as a way to display the scope for now but then again, might want to save that for a real deal. We are now in living history season and at my events a Warner & Swasey scope on an 03 would be a bit "hit".
I am trying to get some good Karma so I donated a repro rubber eye cup to the NRA museum for their Springfield sniper rifle. Just looked naked without the eye cup. They said they would install it if I donated it.
