Possible...my step son used one in Afghanistan about six or seven years ago and was overwhelmed with it...Very strange this...

The German MOD found that the G36’s accuracy begins to wander after sustained rapid or fully-automatic fire as well as when deployed in hot weather conditions. According to some sources H&K changed their "recipe" and started using more cheaper polyethylene instead of Polyamide-imides (thermoplastic) to make their rifles.

During the years before its introduction, the German MoD didn´t know what they wanted (and apparantly still don´t quite know). They started developing a caseless round and the rifle to go with it, but then gave up on that. Now they don´t even know whether they need an infantry rifle or a short automatic carbine. Reminds me of the No 5 "wandering zero".
