A few knifes I collected through the years

Here are a few military knifes I have collected through the years some at antique shops and most at military shows when I use to live in Calf they use to have two a year in San Jose and Hayward none in MT that's a shame do find stuff at gun shows here but those military shows had so much WW2 stuff.



These two not sure about got the sword off ebay the bolo knife for 40 bucks as I was leaving a military show out in the parking lot the handle a little weird the sheave is probably the only thing real.


Bought the beat up knife for 20 bucks to get the sheave for the good one but that beat up one mite have some history since the vets name is on the blade.


This one I was given to me by the Boatswain when I striked BM when in the Navy dam that was a long time ago

What marking has the F/S up top? The blade looks very short, I have one like that. It's French Commando... What maker is the M4 bayonet?

The sykes knife no marking the USM4 a Imperial and has the flaming bomb mark

The blade is certainly shorter than my F/S not very sharp but a very wicked point this knife I was told from the seller was the 3rd pattern.
Fairbairn said that when they made the handle thicker it upset the balance of the knife yet another source defines it as the blade being made thinner which upset the balance.
The All in fighting book had a rather interesting previous owner Flt/Sgt Henthorne 646767.
Were the Commandos only open to the Army or were EOI's for possible selection accepted from any branch of the armed services in WWII.

I knew a man that was RCAF WW2 and he'd been in a bit of trouble in his time. He used to go on leave sort of unexpected like...and stay there... So, he wound up in the glass house for a stretch. They came to him and offered him a chance out, which was a mission. He took the training and went. 160 men went on the mission, a raid, and three came back. He used his F/S to dispatch 3 Germans...sentries... A most unassuming little man too, very skilled as a carpenter...long gone now.

Cinders yours in better shape than mine found mine in a antique shop in a town I use to live in I think I paid 60-70 bucks for the shape it was in thought that was fair don't see many for sale. Mine was well used the blade a little loose but it did have the original sheave the leather not in great shape.

yes but my wife went balistic when she found out what I paid for it the thing has not been used and attracted a rather hefty bidding war but for me it was a have to have as was the book though not as expensive as the F/S it still made the moths fly. Your Cammilus looks in right pristine state is that the large type, may poach it from you one day if you ever decide to part with it.......
