    1942 US sword

I got a new catalog from a company I never heard of before, CH Kadels. Inside is a 1942 US combat sword that looks like a cross between a samarai sword and a kabar knife.

I've never seen one of these before or even heard of one before. Did a web search and came up with a dozen ads for new made items which seems to support my hypothesis that this is a modern made up sword with a fancy name to make sales.

Did such a sword ever exist or is this a modern creation?

It looks nice and for the whopping price of $29.99 I know it has to be a quality piece of workmanship.

The US didn't use swords in combat since...the Indian Wars...? Don't think they saw service in WW1 or Cuba. Maybe on the Mexican punitive expedition in 1916 but I'm not sure.

I take it this is the sword in question. This is a fantasy piece...

Your typical mall ninja's tactical load out isn't complete without one of these. How else will people know you mean business?...

Most of those wound up being turned into fighting knives it seems. There are lots around at least, many in private hands too.
