Need source for M1 Carbine parts.

I have been contacted by a man who needs an operating rod and bayonet lug for an M1icon Carbine. I have offered to help him find a source of such parts. If you have such parts for sale or know of a reputable source please post or private the the information to me. I told him about Bill Ricca Surplus Sales.

There is also a WWT/WTB forum you can post on.

Selling items on discussion forums is against the rules.

Thanks for the responses. I have notified him of Bill Ricca and Numrich Gunparts Corp.

These two should suffice to get him started via telephone.

Hundreds of parts on ebay. You have to be discerning but you can find most carbine parts there.

    Bayonet Lug

    Herschel:

Maybe you have already advised him so, but if he intends to remove a barrel band without a bayonet lug from his carbine and replace it with a barrel band with a bayonet lug he may be diminishing the collector value and market value of the carbine significantly and irreversibly. If you posted a general description of his carbine many here would be glad to help him determine if mounting a bayonet lug band on the carbine is a wise option. FWIW

As it is probably obvious to you Carbine collectors, I am not qualified to give advice about making a correct M1icon Carbine. I was just trying to help a man who was needing a couple of parts. He is not on the internet so can't take advantage of the knowledge that is available here. I think I have pointed him in the right direction to get parts. If he becomes a carbine collector he may want more appropriate parts for his carbine. Thanks for your help here.

I think they were trying to tell you the WW2 era ones did not have a bayonet lug and are worth a lot more than one's from the Korean war that had bayonet lugs a big price drop if it's a WW2 era one and you put that bayonet lug on it could be a 300 dollar drop in value or more if he has money to burn. Unless it's a modern remake with out bayonet lug then he has nothing to loose.
