A new build FRANKENSTEIN 1903A3 that has turned out looking pretty cool.

First, no Stocks, Receivers or other collectable parts were damaged in this project.
The stock is GI plastic, painted black, the receiver and bolt were a pull from an old custom rifle I have had for years just hanging around and all the other parts are spares from my restoration shop.
So what you see here is a PLINKER assembled for by Brother in-law, he has a very fine 1903, but he can’t see well enough to shoot it anymore, (the ladder sights in all), and he asked me to make him a shooter.
The requirements were; look sort of GI with a scope, (that’s pending) and ship it to him for free as he can’t afford to buy any more guns.
Well since he has been my brother in-law for 37 years and the doctors tell him he has less than 5 years to live, (a lung issue), I decided to build this for him. Heck I will get it back in a few years, his idea not mine.
It shoots surprisingly well for a plastic stock, but it does kick hard, hence the limb saver. So do you guys ever do strange 1903 things like this?
