First "Hey J.B." in the new digs.....

    Hey J.B. ,

Just curious, in your opinion, what is the value of a real nice un-documented (As in no release or sales paper from the USMC) Marine 03' service rifle authenticated by an expert such as yourself. This is not about my rifle. That is my "Cold dead hands rifle".

Have seen and maybe directed you to a coupla' Real ones on GB and AA over the last few months. Also a new poster recently asked about one on CSPicon and you gave him the thumbs up. Don't remember if he ever put photos up.

Would the amount of USMC features affect value?

How do you like the new site? Happier now that I have gotten a large photo up. No brewskies made success much easier. Will have one now though. Think I can hang here.

    Death to bad guys,

    Robert/LB

I would value a USMC service rifle between $600 and $1500, depending on condition and configuration. One must remember that most USMC service rifles have been overhauled. That's how they obtained their unusual USMC characteristics. So, that sorta' limits the value.

The value is also driven by how peculiar it is. If, for example, it has only a Hatcher Hole, then it's not worth much premium. If, on the other hand, it has a USMC serial number, a USMC stock, a USMC barrel, a USMC handguard, a Hatcher Hole, a serialized bolt, a stippled buttplate, etc., etc., then it should fetch a good premium.

I think I like the new site. I've still got to learn how to drive it though.

    Hope this helps.

    J.B.
