You might want to try our Milsurps custom search engine located in the top right corner of the site. It only searches our site using Google techniques and can be quite efficient. For example, in your case, type in the words parker hale and see what happens ..

    Dick...

Type parker hale in milsurps.com search box.

There are dozens and dozens of pictures of real ones, as well as a complete MKLicon article (with pics) about Parker Hale sights.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards
    Doug

Yup, yup, yup. Thanks for the advice but I did all that before I asked the question. Easy to find pictures of the sight by itself, not so easy to find it on a gun, and even harder to find someone to share his/her opinion of the sight. I've used PH5Cs and 8/53s but the PH4 looks like a more complete unit. I'm looking for what people who have used them think of them.

    Thanks Doug,

It did, don't know why I didn't think of that, must be getting old.
I have a few of the PH sights not a 4 though, picked up a very nice DOW sight for my No 4 very nice it is, looks a direct copy of the PH 5C, and a PH 16 (no other nomenclature markings) but looks like it was designed to attach via 2 screws to a .22 training rifle.
The Motty I have is the one with the folding windage arm, still very tight and haven't seen anything like it around.

That is a neat looking sight, now the question how is it held in, by the axis pin? it looks like the pin has been threaded and is held in place with a nut.
