So what's the deal with low numbered '03s??

What rifle did York carry?...Is this "cartouche" real or fake?...My cousin traded a Sears double barrel for this 1903 with a funny stamp on the muzzle and a serial number on the bolt..How much is it worth??.....Rick: What year is my Remington and what's with the afghan??

OK. The board is broken in. Good to be here.

    Talking You forgot one

"I found this old Springfield rifle in my Grandma's attic that had pointy rod stickin' out from under the barrel. I wanted to make a deer rifle out of it, so I sawed it off the barrel end of the stock and threw out that pointy cleaning rod thingy. I sawed off the end of the barrel to make it a little lighter. I also cut off the the butt plate and a nice pad on it. My last touch was to drill and tap it for a nice Tasco scope I bought for 5 bucks at a garage sale. The serial number is 315. How much is my rifle worth?"

    Hee hee!

Sounds like a bunch of troublemakers have arrived! Bring in the "rubber hose squad" and straighten 'em out, guys!!

Sgt. Alvin York from TN carried a 1917, NOT a 1903-A1.
Plus he was a hell'va shot with a Browning 1911.

York carried a Daisy BB gun, low numbers handle super hot loads nicely.

So, does the reanimation of this corpse mean that the board is broken down? Or is it just SNAFU?
