1903 rock island nra sporter

I need help. A friend has what he says is an nra sporter, he sent a few pics that I will post if needed. The serial is 405388.

Will someone please do a search for me. I've looked up what to look for, star barrel, serial on bolt, lymann sight. Anything else? Hopefully he will bring the gun over today so I can see it.

No NRA Sporters were made from Rock Island receivers except those "blanks" that were sent to Springfield after RIA closed down.

Post the pictures, though.

Probably he meant NRA sales rifle with the NRA marking on the magazine guard. Check for markings there.
