    No1 MkV

Any one in the UKicon know the going price for a SMLE No1 Mk V ? There is one on Gunstar but I doubt it will sell at that price.

A well known specialist Enfield dealer had 3 on their site recently. I think only one still listed now. They were all around the £2200 mark if I recall correctly. I think the one on Gunstar has been on for some time, bears out your comment on the price.

Lord thundering Jesus!!!!! Where did it sell for that price ???
Sold one a couple of years ago for $950.00 and thought that was a fair price.
Just gonna have to re-evaluate some of the stuff in "the shed" (tm)

I saw those 3 on the UKicon sellers site. Yeah, £2200.

I purchased my all matching 1922 a couple years back for $2200 Canadianicon from another site member here.

A reasonable price for a 100% original is about £1200 to £1500. They are not, after all, that rare.

Many in UKicon have been rebuilt (to very variable standard) with repro parts from a bare receiver. IMHO they are worth about £300 as a shootable SMLE with a new barrel.....

If there is an accurate ORGINAL record of the numbers produced and the serial numbers it will become a very valuable record as will any certified copy as it is used to 'Prove' stuff offered for sale. However unless it includes rifles known to have been destroyed, fiddled with, or otherwise 'Not eligible' it will be of little use and the 'Fakers' will still make their claims. One does wonder, if we are allowed firearms in say 150 years time, what this site and others will look like and what the 'Truth' will look like. 'Genuine Dublin Police No4 Mark with genuine Criterion barrel as renumbered by the famous dealer XYZ with orignal repro mounts by DrP' Very rare conversion from the original Irish Contract block as agreed by Frederick Laidlericon. Who knows?

By the way you are making assumptions, you need to do primary research on that. Be sure to dismiss known experts opinions, you know the guys that write 4 or 5 books.

    Just kidding.
