Question M1916 holster - original - date of production 1945?

A kind friend gave me this holster recently and I first thought it was a reproduction, but now I am not sure. The more I look at this, the more I wonder if it's really just new old stock from 1945. It came in the original packaging which is in very poor condition.

Is there any way to tell?

Also, I assume this is an appropriate holster for a 1911 pistol. I am correct? I don't own one now but hope to own a WWII example someday and I think this holster would be perfect!

It's hard to make out the writing on the package, but here are some photos...

It's all about the stitching...there's a thread that explains it here somewhere. I think Richard Turner said the old thread was thicker and the new is different color and thinner. Maybe we can get him to comment. I think your holster's correct. I have the wrong glasses on right now for close up but I think it's OK. Verdigris on the brass fittings is hard to phoney up and the general appearance seems correct.
    Regards, Jim

Looks to me to be 100% correct. I checked it against my Boyt 1944 and they match in all ways. Hope this helps.
