Interesting notation in NRA 1987 book By Hatcher

In my '87 NRALB on the Garand by Hatcher on page 160 someone has penciled in .2995" and crossed out the .2295" minimum bore size is this a misprint in the book.
Also noted in pencil earlier on in this book was the initial cost of $1000.oo/gun for the initial product run was crossed out and $1360.oo inserted any clues
