    HXP Ammo

Reminds me that about 15 years ago we could buy excellent quality .303 HXP ammo for our Lee Enfields. It came in wooden boxes of 600, divided into 2 x 300 rnds in sealed 'spam cans'. The ammo was in original WW2* 'stripper clips' (also called chargers) in bandoliers.

The supply dried up after a few years, although I heard that there was still plenty available but couldn't be exported from Greece to UKicon because the packaging (as above) didn't meet current European shipping regulations! . To take it out and repackage wouldn't have been cost effective.

    *very occasionally WW1 clips!
