Do you ever wonder what happened to those Spanish Hispano HA-1112 Buchon aircraft that flew in the Battle of Britain movie and were recently sold at auctioned right out of Commemorative Air Force pilot Connie Edwards' barn? There are also some neat rumors about the possibility of a remake of the Battle of Britain movie... Weeeelll see...

Thanks Bob for that, I wonder after they do a remake of the BB they may think about doing a movie on Faith, Hope and Charity's effort in the battle for Malta 3 antiquated Gladiator aircraft against the axis air power from memory Charity is the lone survivor on display at Malta, but I may be wrong on that one. (My book on them is buried on the book shelf)

N5520 Faith is a fuselage in the War Museum

Yes I think in the book there is a forlorn looking skeleton of a fuselage with Malta as a backdrop, I have a couple of books on Malta air war "Against All Odds" By Lex McAulay is pretty good and "One Mans Window" By Dennis Barnham I think Dennis logged more operational hours than any other fighter pilot in the RAF which included a fun filled flight in a damaged aircraft over 100's klms of open ocean his cockpit awash with aviation spirit. Almost similar to Robert Stanford Tucks effort when he was bounced by some ME-109's.

Just to digress on Tucks effort he was dawdling just flying over open ocean and day dreaming (He even admitted this was a wrong thing to do in a big way) when in his words his whole world came crashing in when cannon shells smashed into his cockpit he was alone and low over the ocean with 3 enemy to contend with he shot 2 down and damaged another. I think it was the latter he damaged without the aid of his reflector gunsight as that had been smashed and he was in a head on shooting match with this last ME-109. Yes Faith is indeed in the War Museum in Valetta where I saw her last year. I lived in Malta in the middle to late 60's with my parents as a Military brat for three years, when Faith was pretty much in tact with wings on. She no longer has those as her fuselage only dons a spot in the museum.
The history surrounding WW2 in Malta has always fascinated me, and I know I only ever scratch the surafce each time I go.
I was there in fact dedicating a new gravestone made for me by the CWWG Commission to a fallen 3 PARA soldier who died on the island in 1969. The graveyard was full of WW2 dead from all services.
