    stock disk markings; please assist

    this is a no 1 mk 3 (no stars; no strikethroughs) receiver dated 1915. wanted help with the stock disk markings. i can post more photos, but she just looks like any other correct no 1 mk 3. the disk markings give insight to where she may have been. appreciate the assist! there is a "FR" stamp on the buttstock. pakistani????

    It's Farsi (Iraqi). There should be a funny looking triangle-looking thing on the knox form. If that's not there, then the ID disc came from a different rifle.

    I took an ID disc sort of like that to work one day, and a Persian co-worker translated it something (roughly) of "army of Iraq" and a rack number. This was many years ago and I have forgotten the exact translation.

    The bottom is a number, 1079 the top translates to, H ? T, the middle letter I can't make it out or what it is ? see link below

    i double-checked the nock's form. it is blank, except for green paint which covers the metal under the wood, and cosmolineicon -- which covers the green paint.

    so best guess, the Iraqi disk was added at some point. thank you!!!!

    i really like the milsurps forum. experienced people show patience with noobs like myself. i appreciate it very much
