    R P Rear Flip Sight ?

Not sure if this one is rear or reproduction, any thoughts ?? I have removed the leaf because it was obvious that it was a different finish and most probably a replacement. Thanks Chris

Thanks, The votes per PM and here seem unanimous. Now I know what pile to put it in.

Never seen milling like that on the bottom of a USGI sight.

And he was tops at self promotion and fleecing people out of their money. As do some unscrupulous sellers. Beware of a great or rare deal. Another quote:

From watching a special on him one time, he never said that line. It was one of his competitors who said it to a reporter when asked why people went to Barnum's shows. I used to think it was the other way around too, but it makes way more sense if one of his competitors said it.

The R and P on the originals were stamped with a single die. The tipped P is a giveaway that two separate dies were used. Obvious fake!

I'm very glad that I don't have to include this process in my hobby. It has to be pretty frustrating.

Actually it can be tremendously rewarding. Knowing how to ID parts can be a beneficial skill. I once got a free M1A1icon stock, but the seller set his price, so...
