    Egyptian HELWAN

Went to the local gun shop for some flashlight batteries and found something a little different...

Egyptian Helwan 9mm; copy of the Beretta Model 1951 single stack - predecessor of the Model 92F. There were 3-4 variations; the first two were surplus Egyptian Military and Police guns - supposedly in better condition/better steel and heat treat - then the other two batches - with guess what - the Century imported commercial ones suffered from poor heat treat!

There's another pistol I always wanted to try out. Looks like others that have followed since, copied features.

Having looked at a few Beretta pistols before, one thing jumps out about this design, where is the safety on this model?

Is it a cross bolt style button at the top of the grip, or is there none at all like a TT33?

The cross bolt type button at the grip top is the safety.
