Slouch hat info pls

Brought this a 2 years ago it is a 1942 vintage and I think a WWII Indian 36th Battalion raised in '42 any info is always well received I paid $140.oo/AU for it I think I did ok. It does not have a chinstrap I have a spare but then that makes it not original may I as what it would be valued at now.
